“Mind Your Mind” is a confidential and anonymous service. This means that anything you share with us stays within our helpline, with a few important exceptions.

Exceptions to Confidentiality: We may need to share information if:

  • You tell us that your life or someone else’s life is in immediate danger.
  • We believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm.
  • You disclose that you are harming or planning to harm another person.
  • We are required to do so by law or a court order.

Our Mission: We are dedicated to providing a safe, non-judgmental space where you can openly discuss thoughts of suicide and any related concerns. We also help you explore reasons for living and offer:

  • Advice and Guidance: Support to help you manage your thoughts and feelings.
  • Safety Planning: A personalized plan developed with an adviser to help keep you safe from acting on suicidal thoughts.

Emergency Situations: If your life is in immediate danger, we will discuss how the emergency services can assist you directly. If you’re unable to reach out to these services yourself, we may need to share your information with them to ensure you get the support you need. While we strive to obtain your consent before sharing any information, please note that in some situations, your consent is not required to keep you safe.

Safeguarding from Harm: If you share that you are being harmed by someone else, our trained advisers will take your situation seriously. If your life is in immediate danger, we may need to involve the police or emergency services. All safeguarding concerns are reported to our designated officers and our charity’s Safeguarding Lead. Even after your contact with us ends, if we believe further action is needed to keep you safe, we may take steps to do so. We will try to inform you of any such decisions and will always aim to get your consent before sharing information with authorities, but in some cases, consent is not required to protect you from harm.
